Globetrotting dances by Bartók, Copland, Ginastera, Piazzolla, and Johann Strauss Jr. will showcase rhythmic vitality and flair, while tender lyrical melodies set the tone for Mahler’s sublime Adagietto, perhaps the greatest love song in the orchestral repertoire, at once serene and fervent.
