When Pablo Casals (then age 93) was asked why he continued to practice the cello three hours a day, he replied, “I’m beginning to notice some improvement.”

Strings Attached is made up of adult amateur musicians. Whether we learned to play a string instrument as a child, or started learning as an adult,  what we all have in common is a love for playing music, and a desire to keep growing musically.  While we are all busy with our ‘day jobs’,  we have each found the SA Orchestra to be an important and meaningful aspect of our lives, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make music together. We are not a professional orchestra, but what we play and how we sound is important to us, and it is through playing music together in weekly rehearsals and scheduled performances that we continue to develop strong, well-played repertoire. Ask any of us and you’ll hear how important being part of this group is to our members, and how much richer it has made our lives – musically and beyond!

We occasionally perform full orchestra music requiring singers, wind, keyboard and percussion players. If you are interested in joining us in one of these rolls please contact us so we can discuss possibilities with you.
