Strings Attached is a member driven orchestra, run by and for the members. Joining the Orchestra gives you the right to participate in all decisions, and every member’s input is important for various decisions to be made.

We are a not for profit group, so all fees and proceeds are used only to sustain the Orchestra’s needs. Fees go towards: our Conductor’s salary, purchasing music, renting our rehearsal space, insurance, and other miscellaneous needs; and our budget and accounting is made available to all members bimonthly. Since we don’t ever want finances to keep people away from music, we can make arrangements where appropriate on a case by case basis, should a member have difficulty paying this fee.

To become a member, we require a minimum annual donation. For 2017-18 the minimum amount is $300.  For new members who join us mid-year, the required minimum donation will be pro-rated based on the timing within the season.

Our string orchestra is made up of violin, viola, cello and double bass players.  

We welcome inquiries to join from keyboard and percussion players as many string arrangements now include these instruments. We also welcome inquiries from wind and brass players who would like to join us for some full orchestra repertoire.

If you think you might be interested in joining us, we invite you to come try out our Orchestra. New participants are welcome to come for 1-2 weeks to see if the Orchestra is a good fit.
